ACEX & Bone

Flexibility in Research

BMJ Architects is currently undertaking the sixth phase of refurbishment of the ACEX and Bone buildings situated on ICL’s South Kensington site adjacent to the Knightsbridge Conservation Area and the listed Royal College of Music - a rooftop extension to provide a new floor of flexible laboratory space, office and seminar space for the Department of Chemical Engineering.

The 5 completed phases of the refurbishment include the overcladding of the existing buildings and provision of a new welcoming entrance, the rooftop extension for the Imperial College Business School Computer Teaching Suite, and fit-out within the building including the Carbon Capture Pilot Plant, office research laboratory, teaching, seminar and breakout.
