Unique and Aspiring Space for Learning
The Glasgow Academy is renowned for providing high quality education and the new school aimed to continue this tradition and facilitate the latest teaching methods and technologies. The brief set out to capitalise on views of the River Kelvin and create a building that nurtured the pupils and gave them a unique and inspiring place to learn.
We designed glass-fronted classrooms that face the River Kelvin and give the students a light, airy and inspiring place to learn. The layout deliberately segregates nursery and primary students and each age group has an independent entrance, independent circular system and separate playgrounds.

Breakout spaces on each floor help to maximise the learning environment and the building is topped with a tented rooftop meeting area that provides a unique space for pupils to meet.
